the Iligans are cool, they are a very smart couple (both are scientists) and very, very humble and laidback.

baby martin just joined them, he is a baby who has tons of character, he lets mom and dad knows what he wants, for sure.

he looks into your eyes with interest, i think he is REALLY into faces, especially the eyes, it amazed me, just because he was so new to the world

what a blessing it is working with people like Melanie, Roger and little Martin.

i enjoyed every bit of it. hope your little man is sleeping through the night by now.

i have this thing i love to do with my kids, i record mini-interviews with them, i ask random questions that they, with their little, fascinating minds respond to in such cute ways, every time .

their answers fill my heart with joy.

so i thought it’d be a great thing to do with my clients and post it on my blog

Hanna is happy, she is happy ALL the time, she is comfortable in any situation and with everyone , she looks right into your eyes and smiles. during our session she was just learning how to walk and fell, hurt herself and cried, but just for a moment because she had to get back to her “happy mode”.

there is no interview with hanna, yet, so i’ll tell you few random things about her:

she is 1

has a brother that loves her and shows it.

she can stand on her big toe better than any professional ballerina.

her grace has made the Barwick home a perfect place.

she can be bribed with little fruit puffs.

she is absolutely adorable

Shay and Josh, meeting you and working with you throughout these years has been a GREAT pleasure, you better keep having babies, so i keep capturing these beautiful memories for you.

their mother  is one of my dearest friends, one of the best i’ve ever had.

they are my kids bff’s, with just a few months apart in age and a few blocks from our place, the 4 have grown up together since they were babies.

she is super sporty, he can claim trees like a pro

they spend every summer in spain in this gorgeous place that their grandparents own.

they are also half-latin half- anglo, that makes a special bond betwen us.

hi! i’m so excited to show you this post, it is from a wedding i just did and i loved!…because my husband had to travel so much for his work, i couldn’t photograph weddings, they are on the weekends and we’d never get to spend time as a family, but things have changed here at our household and so i am now able to… michelle and andrew asked me to do theirs, and it was such a great way to get back into the wedding photography adventure. it was a totally different experience from my family & editorial sessions, but i approached it in the same way – trying to capture their spirits – and i absolutely loved it!

this was such an intimate, relaxed and unique wedding, you will see what i mean in the pictures below but for those who don’t michelle and andrew here it is a little bit of their very romantic story…

he is scottish she is argentine-american, they blended both cultures in such a cool way for the celebration

they got ready at her parents’ house, but the ceremony and celebration took place at her aunt vilma’s home

michelle is very creative and artistic, she hand-made every single invitation, personalized for each guest. and one of my fav touches were these gorgeous “spanish avanicos”  which were very handy on a humid afternoon, outside ceremony

the bouquet was made by the very talented designer, lesly rossato, who, by the way, worked her tail off that day as my assistant, thanks a lot Les.

michelle’s very ethereal look, very genuine to her style, loved it!

some time ago, on one of those long trips that i take navigating the web, i had the fortune to find this BEAUTIFUL story that i have since saved in my fav bookmarks. i know ideally it’d have been perfect to share with you on fathers day, yes i’m late, but not too late, technically this is father’s week, isn’t it? at least at our house it is . anyway, here is the story…

after his mother died, photographer Phillip Toledano recorded his father’s finals years through pictures, unbelievably touching story, one of the best i’ve seen, i won’t say much, you enjoy it…

this sweet family is the gerhkens, i had the absolute pleasure to work with them and loved it, chelsea is a doula here in greensboro, she mentioned that over the phone and when i met her in person i was quite impressed, excuse my ignorance in the field, but i always thought doulas were ladies with white, long hair that help deliver your baby at home, but i was obviously wrong, you’ll see when you see chelsea in the images below.

these are few of my favorites from our photo-session, they truly are a reflection of their laid-back, loving spirit.  thank you chelsea and emmett for all of your kindness.

Finley could be easily be working for crewcuts, he has the face, the hair and the energy (and the photographer of course, hello crewcuts). in the meanwhile i’m enjoying that he is working exclusively with me …

for those who visit my blog often, you know that these little faces (well, 2 are not so little anymore) are regulars around here, and around our house too … this time we introduce a new little one, who came unexpectedly and has delighted us all, his name is alex, he is 5-months old and like his big brother, he hit the lottery with those fantastic blue eyes…

rachel and jose and their party of 5 joined us for the StudioMini sessions event we threw 2 weeks ago as part of our new “Studio-PhotoShoot” offering, these sessions take place at this AMAZING photo studio near downtown greensboro, and the kids seem to love it as much as the adults! you’ll see why.

dear villalbas thank you all for making it so easy and so fun for me. working with you is ALWAYS a pleasure.

a couple of years ago i heard the story of a photographer from NYC, Scott Harrison, who went to west africa as a photojournalist volunteer.  the project changed his life (and the lives of many others)…. watching the video and reading the stories on the web had a great impact on me.  like the fact that almost a billion people live without clean water.  and that women and children in places like  sub-saharan africa walk up to four hours each day to get water – and that every 19 seconds a mother loses one of her children because of this same contaminated water.  this breaks my heart in pieces.  it makes me immensely grateful for the life i get to live, but also creates a profound feeling of responsibility, and, since i believe that the worst of sins is indifference, i’ve decided to use my modest ways (photography work, blogging, donations, etc) to help.

CHARITY: WATER is one of my favorite charity foundations. please open you hearts and give just 10 minutes of your time to watch this video or visit their website. i’m sure, like me, you would love to be part of such a great movement.
