i always wanted to have a girl, ever since i can remember, even from the days i played with dolls i dreamed one day to have my own little girl. not only because it’s so much fun to dress them up and do girly things together but also for that special bond i think we (women) all have with our mothers, i know, it kind of fades during our teen years, but just fortifies after that, i saw it through the years in my family, my mom had it with my “nona” (her mom) and i have it with mine.
when i was pregnant with my first baby i secretly wished i was carrying a girl so i didn’t have to worry about it anymore, of course i couldn’t be happier with my boy, but i thank god that i got her the second time around, otherwise i wouldn’t have stopped trying until i got my little pink nursery.
she was a surprise, we didn’t want to know the sex before the birth and for some reason everybody, based on the shape of my belly, predicted i was having a boy, i convinced myself and everybody else, including my own doctor, that i was in fact going to be the mother of 2 boys.
i can not express with words my feelings during the c-section when the doctor pulled that little creature out and screamed ”it’s a girl, it’s a girl”. i cried with emotion for 3 consecutive days and even now i just can’t believe my luck.
she is turning 2 today and i can assure you i’ve loved every single minute of it, we have in our house the happiest, funniest and most loving little girl we have ever met.
i always wanted to have a girl, i just never imagine i was going to have the girl of my dreams.
i love you my little “mushroom”

love
“mami”
